Privacy Policy

The short version

Every tool on Deftkit runs entirely in your browser. The text, files, codes, colors, passwords, timestamps, JWTs, or any other input you provide is processed locally on your device and never sent to a server. There is no account, no signup, no upload, and no log of what you typed or generated.

What we do not collect

• The contents of any input field, output display, or generated value on any tool page.
• Files you load into any tool — images, PDFs, screenshots, and any binary content are read by your browser's FileReader and Canvas APIs and never uploaded anywhere.
• Passwords, hashes, secrets, API tokens, JWTs, or anything you paste into a security-related tool.
• Personal information of any kind.
• Account credentials — there are no accounts on this site.

What we do collect

To understand which tools are useful and to improve the site, we collect basic, anonymized analytics about page visits. This is the same standard data that nearly every website on the internet records:

• Which page you visited
• How you got to the page (referrer or search query)
• Your browser type and operating system
• Your approximate location (country, sometimes city)
• The time of your visit

We do notlink this data to anything you typed into a tool. The analytics record "someone visited the JSON formatter page" — they do not record "someone formatted this specific JSON object." The two streams are completely separate by design.

Third-party services

Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to collect the aggregate page-visit data described above. GA4 sets cookies in your browser to recognize repeat visitors and to attribute page views to a session. You can opt out of GA4 entirely by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by using a tracker-blocking extension.

Google AdSense

When traffic crosses a threshold that makes monetization viable, we may display ads served by Google AdSense. AdSense is a third-party service that may use cookies to personalize ads based on your visits to this site and other sites. You can manage personalized ad preferences at Google Ads Settings or opt out at aboutads.info. When ads are added to the site, they will be clearly marked and will not be served from any tool input field.

Vercel hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Standard server logs (IP address, request path, response code, timestamp) are collected by Vercel as part of normal web hosting operations. These logs are used only for security and infrastructure monitoring and are not linked to anything you do inside a tool.

Cookies

Deftkit itself does not set any first-party cookies. The only cookies you may encounter are set by the third-party services described above (GA4 and, in the future, AdSense). You can clear or block these cookies from your browser settings at any time without affecting your ability to use any tool on this site.

Data retention

Because we do not collect tool input or output, there is nothing to retain. Aggregate analytics data follows Google's standard retention policies (configurable in our GA4 property; default is 14 months).

Children's privacy

Deftkit is a general-purpose developer and ops toolbox and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are under 13, please do not use this site for tasks that involve personal information of any kind.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes (for example, adding a new third-party service) will be reflected here before the change goes live on the site.
